Particularités

The Miki Miki is a large brush with small white flower that are very sought after by the bees of Tetiaroa. It is often confused with the ‘O’uru (Suriana maritima) which has yellow flowers. It is most often found on the edge of the ocean, in the hoa, and on the ocean facade of atoll motu. Its dissemination is done by hydrochory since its seeds float well. It is not found in the Marquises. This species is very resistant to salt, its wood is also hard and resistant. It is used to build spears, hooks, or bludgeons among other things.
