We are excited to announce another innovative effort to advance global wildlife conservation programs!
As many of you know, we are moving forward with a ground-breaking project to protect and enhance Tetiaroa’s native seabirds, sea turtles and plants by removing invasive rats from very island in the atoll. This project will also establish, for the first time, the beneficial impact of rat removal on the health and resiliency of coral reefs. This will inform global efforts to protect coral reefs and the health of our oceans.
For the first time ever, heavy-lift drones will be used to implement a rat removal project. This cutting-edge use of drone technology will be cheaper, faster and safer than traditional methods, greatly aiding future global conservation efforts. If successful on Tetiaroa, a suite of islands in French Polynesia will be restored via drone—another world first.
But this can only happen if we close our funding gap of $42,000 by March 2021.
Will you help make conservation history?
