Interesting facts

This mollusc is very common in Polynesia and has some of the most beautiful colors in the water, much to the delight of divers. Its colors come from tiny algae called zooxanthellae, that they absorb into their tissue. Thanks to this algae, it can produce its food, its oxygen, and therefore its energy. The clam is a fascinating animal that also plays the role of filterer of water in the lagoon thanks to its specialized gills.
