The tiger cowrie is a large, white, shell spotted with black or brown its black and white mantle that can completely cover the shell. This animal has long taste buds and eats mollusks and sponges. We can find this cowrie in the lagoon and on the external slope between 3 and 130 feet deep. In Polynesia it tends to be found in deeper areas since it is overfished. It currently is an endangered specie in many regions of the world.
